Note: This course is best experienced on a pc or laptop.

Needs Analysis: In the Introduction to Graphic Design course at the University of Houston - Clear Lake, students utilize Adobe Illustrator to apply design principles in project creation. Many are new to the platform, struggling with navigation despite classroom instruction, impacting project quality. An additional learning resource was sought to supplement platform proficiency without detracting from class time for learning design principles.

Development/Solution: I aimed to minimize student workload while ensuring engagement. Opting for Articulate Storyline for its gamification capabilities, I integrated animated characters via Vyond. The simulation guided students through Adobe Illustrator features, fostering proficiency through interactive tasks with optional hints for assistance.

Outcome: The pre-class requirement received widespread acclaim, with students entering subsequent sessions already proficient in Adobe Illustrator basics. Such positive reception has sparked talks of expanding gamified scenarios within the Graphic Design curriculum soon.
